Today we had the chance to go on a safari in Eastern Rwanda. The tour took about 7 hours, and in that time we saw zebras, giraffes, antelopes, baboons, and other animals. It was an awesome experience and we all enjoyed it!
On the drive home, which was about two hours, we would often pass by people in various villages. Some were students walking home from school, others carrying several canteens filled with water. Everyone would stop and smile, some even waved. It was inspiring to see the love the people of Rwanda have despite living in poverty. It is a reminder of the grace God has for us. We live an excellent life in the U.S. and are so blessed, but we are also selfish and seeking what’s best for ourselves. The people of Rwanda have taught us something important today: God doesn’t see rich or poor, He sees the love He has for his children. The people of Rwanda have such a heart for God we all hope to strive for.
Thank you for your continued prayers, and for keeping up with our trip! We are on the seventh inning stretch of the trip, and we are all in disbelief that our time has gone by so fast. Please pray for the people of Rwanda, and that we can continue to express Christ for the remainder of our trip. Thank you!
