Words cannot convey all our experiences in China thus far; however, we have been trying to do our best to keep you all updated. This trip has exceeded all expectations and we have had the opportunity to experience and see things that are heart changing. Today we had the pleasure of spending the day with some of the mother’s from the Chengdu International School. They meet every Tuesday to practice their English. As we arrived we were greeted with many smiles. At first some of the women were shy and afraid to speak in English, thinking it was bad; however, once we started to engage them they opened up and were willing to try to talk more in English. We learned about the city, the school, tea ceremonies, their children and families. We got to play several games trying to remember each other names, getting into line by birthday months without talking, and working in teams to make dresses out of newspaper supplies. We also got to play Mahjong, a Chinese cross between poker and dominos. Despite our differences in language and culture we were able to communicate and have a very lovely afternoon. It was great to see the joy on their faces and know that they all care so much for their children. We encouraged them to keep practicing but they are doing great so far! I am so thankful that we got to meet these women and spend quality time with them. It was another one of those situations where we going in thinking that we are going to bless others and we are the ones that walk away with the true blessing. This seems to be the theme of this trip!
