I think it is safe to say that most people like to eat. I also think that most people derive pleasure from a meal that they feel has been cooked for them with love and care. At Haus Edelweiss, they take great pride in ensuring that the students are well fed and that they have meals that are enjoyable and quite tasty. They take great pride in ensuring that the tables are set very nicely, that the students concentrate on enjoying their meals and good fellowship and that there is always someone at the table to ensure that all of their needs.
Working in the kitchen has been such a wonderful experience. We are now cooking for about 100 people and making all sorts of delicious meals. Despite the fact that it is hard work, that we are on our feet all day, that we do endless dishes, clean endless counters, wash our hands about 50 times a day and have cut up enough lettuce to feed an army, we do it with great pleasure because we see the joy that it brings to the students who are working so hard to earn their degrees.
I feel very privileged to be a part of this team and part of the ministry that is taking place here at Haus Edelweiss. We are truly a part of expanding God’s kingdom.
The Czech Republic has been on my heart since my husband and I have traveled there three different times. So what an experience to sit at lunch by Joseph, a Czech student. He works with youth in his town which has a population of about 30,000. He has Saturday night club events with about 40 students in attendance. He also said that summer camps are a part of their outreach to youth. He is allowed to go into schools and pass out literature about their events. The Czech Republic is the most agnostic European nation. Please pray for Joseph as he endeavors to reach the youth in his country.
