We started off today with a beautiful devotion from Cindy. She talked about how she used to pray for things she wanted, how she wanted things to for her way, but when she hit rock bottom and was ready to give up she prayed for God to show her what He had planned, and for His will to be done. When she was at Savannah Christian Church, hearing Phil Fincher speak about a little girl named Daisy, Phil talked about his experience in Ecuador and his experience with Daisy. His story touched Cindy’s heart and made her want to come on a mission trip. As she continued praying for God’s will to be done in her life, it led up to Cindy coming here. So yesterday when Cindy unexpectedly saw Daisy live in the flesh, she wanted to run up to her and hug her and tell her that she was the reason she was here. Seeing her live in the flesh was this beautiful moment of knowing that she was the reason she was here and that this was completely right.
Cindy truly delighted in the Lord’s plan like Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.” She shared her devotion and this verse this morning. We could all feel her joy from getting her touching conformation of why she is here. This really reinforced that we are all in Ecuador for a reason and when we truly trust God and give a decision or our entire life over to him, He makes amazing things happen and shows us how everything comes together in the end. Just like our team, we fit together as individual puzzle pieces, to form a beautiful picture. Each piece has its own purpose and together we create the perfect depiction of love and helpfulness.
Later today we started on the gardens and did a view prayer walks around the town. WE are continuing to grow and bond with the people. More updates coming soon! And pictures! (We had some technical difficulties today, but they’ll be coming soon!)
God bless,
Lane
