Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30
JAARS can be a short term or long term home for missionaries on furlough, retired missionaries, staff, volunteers and missionaries still raising their support. The people who walk this campus all have at least one thing in common, their love for Jesus. You can see God working here, working in the lives of those who live and work here, serve here or visit for JAARS day (occurs quarterly). God is present, whether confirming and giving peace to those who are going into the mission field or for those coming here to rest before going back to the mission field. There is an excitement every week during the summer with a new mission team coming from other supporting churches to campus. They come to serve, encourage and listen to the stories of years in the mission field, the translations of bibles into new languages for those hungry to hear God’s word.
Just like the body has many parts, with individual jobs and yet work together so does JAARS. Each department works to support those in various countries from immunizations, rest, computer support to maintenance, short-term mission trips here and so on. The life line is knowing the bible is being translated into one more language, reaching at one more person until the whole world knows the name of Jesus.
Just like the body gets tired and drained so do those who serve and the JAARS campus provides a place to rest, for them to fuel up and continue to fulfill God’s purpose for His glory! It’s been a great week, the team is working well together and the students have been awesome.
