Today was our day to get our land legs and reset our internal clocks. We spent the day in Vienna walking through this beautiful city enjoying the fresh air and cool temperatures and ate some delicious schnitzel . The people from TCM know that we have many hours and days of work ahead for us so they give us an extra day to recuperate from long hours on a plane and from the jet lag that comes with the 6 hour difference.
Tonight’s meal was our first working meal and we are getting use to how they do things here. Such a well oiled machine! We gathered briefly with the other team from Christ Church in the Valley for a little cards and then afterward they held a reception for all the STW (Short Term Workers) so that we could meet and get to know each other better. Tomorrow we wake up and we are not just a team from Compassion Christian Church but we become Ellen, Cheryl and Mikki-Kitchen Team; Sharon and Sue-Guest Services/Housekeeping; Robin and Pat-Outside Maintenance along with our new team mates from CCV.
The students will start arriving tomorrow and we will have prayer time for them and our final orientation before we divide up into our jobs for the next 8 days. Keep those prayers coming as we begin our true work and look for ways to encourage these wonderful students, professors and staff.
