Today was such a FULL day! We began with a team devotion that reminded us of God’s great love for Israel, and His great love for us, then encouraged to build relationships as the next few days progress so we can share this love with our Holocaust Survivor friends.
Manual Labor Monday was an opportunity to clean and spruce up the retreat center prior to our guests’ arrival. We had teams cleaning the chapel where we meet each day, replacing mosquito netting on cabin windows, cleaning up the outdoor amphitheater, and installing curtain rods in the guest cabins. The forecast called for 100% chance of rain, but the showers held off until early afternoon so we were able to get the majority of our outside projects completed.
The best part of our day was when the Holocaust survivors arrived in the early evening. They seem to be a bright and bubbly bunch, and were very eager to make our acquaintance. Already our time with them has been a joy and we cannot wait to see where God will lead us this week.
While there are 1-2 Christ followers among this group, the majority are not. Many carry deep scars from a painful past, both in national and personal levels. Please join with us in praying that God will help each of us to really connect with 1-2 of our new friends, and that He will use us to whisper His love into their hurting hearts.
