Hola! Today was our third day in Ecuador, and each day becomes more and more eventful than the last. After a breakfast of eggs, fruit, and bread, the team took the provincial bus to Bolivar where we gathered in the church to work on our Go Deep session. We continue to add to the sessions each day; today we split into small groups and had our members from Effingham act out a skit. Then we all went on a prayer walk within our smaller groups throughout Bolivar and neighboring villages. We prayed over specific houses, families, situations, and the mission in Ecuador as a whole. My group made friends with a stray dog named Paco who followed us along the whole walk. We returned to our session and discussed our walks while eating bags of fresh hot bread (in addition to the fact that it only cost 10 cents, it tasted so good!) The morning was a good reminder of the reality that our missionaries Carlos and Jeanette face each day in Ecuador and of the power of prayer for strong local leaders to serve alongside them. I feel confident that as we finish out the week in Ecuador and return home, that is something that will continue to weigh on the hearts of our team members.

After lunch we all the had the option to visit the school, go to some medical house visits, or stay with the kids and do crafts. I had the pleasure to go visit some of the homes in San Antonio which is a village close to Bolivar. We gave them the medicine they needed for things like headaches, fever, and worms. We also got to ask them if they knew Jesus. If they did we would pray with and for them. If they didn’t we would tell them about Jesus and how he loved us so much and that he is the only way to Heaven. After they understood (and some accepted Jesus, which is AWESOME) we all prayed together. It was amazing to see how even though there was a language barrier, between our love and the translator they knew and could see how great God really is. After the house visits we returned to Bolivar and played with the kids until dinner. After dinner we rode the provincial bus back home. Our team is connecting and getting closer day by day and the relationships we have with the kids are growing exponentially. I’m so excited to see what all God still has in store for us in these next few days!!
