We’ve had another incredible day serving and playing with these kids. They are incredible group that never cease to amaze us at how they make life happen with 21 people every day. It’s just as amazing to observe the family relationships. You would probably assume that some of the kids that are newer to this family would take time to adjust and fit in. While I’m sure there is truth in that statement, it is certainly not evident. These kids, whether biological or not, hem themselves together as one cohesive unit that loves and supports each other at every turn. It truly is a great picture of how the family of God is supposed to work.
With some many kids from different background and experiences, some have come to into the family with difficult circumstances to overcome. We were given some background prior to meeting everyone and expected some of the kids would be harder to connect with. Today, I’m pleased to share that many of these kids have opened themselves up to us through relationship. It’s a simple smile here or there. Or a thumbs up with a pat on the back. But what’s been cool today are the hugs we’ve now started receiving unexpectedly. They just come up and throw their arms around you and quite literally linger in your arms whether standing and talking or sitting on a bean bag together. God has been amazing and continues move mighty mountains.
Another amazing report is the church has had so much volunteer interest that they have had to turn people away. People that are already volunteering somewhere in the church have been asked to step aside to make room for the people who are not currently serving. So many of the people we’ve been beside in the kitchen or mopping floors have just been activated at the church. Also, we had two visitors today that were invited by a friend that are non-believers. They served just as hard as anyone and loved being around the family. Again, it was just amazing to see God use this situation as an evangelistic opportunity in the community. I don’t know if these two folks will come to church anytime soon, but regardless the Gospel seeds have been planted.
Thanks for continuing to pray for us! Please pray specifically for Natasha that God will use us to reach the depths of her heart and that a cold virus that is going around would be removed.
