From Clay Hining:
Today was another wonderful day in Poland! Kontakt Tomaszow 2015 continues to be a great success. It is such a blessing to work with our partners at ProEm.
Our Savannah Christian team has been working on two different projects. Both projects involve painting a fence around two different schools in Tomaszow. It’s hard and tedious work, but there is a lot of satisfaction in accomplishing the task.
Painting the fences has been the perfect backdrop for the real reason we are here: creating relationships with Polish students. The same group of students has been working with us everyday, and as we work we talk about our lives. We have so much in common even though we live so far apart and our cultures are so different. We talk about our families, our schools, and our dreams. We teach each other how to say things in Polish and in English, which creates a lot of laughter since our English speaking tongues have so much trouble making Polish sounds. We have become FaceBook friends with many of them, and we have swapped email addresses so that we can keep in touch after this week is over.
Our prayer is that the positive energy and joy produced through all of these friendships will draw them to the church in Tomaszow. God is using ProEm and the Tomy church to lead many people to a life changing connection with Jesus Christ, and it all starts with relationships.
Tonight we were able to visit the city of Lodz which is about an hour from Tomaszow. ProEm is planting a church in Lodz, and we prayed over the site and the launch team for this new church plant. There is so much need for a church there. The population of Lodz is over one million, but there are only about 600 evangelical Christians. That is 6 Christians out of every 10,000 people. We know the church plant will be used by God to do incredible things. It was a blessing to pray for the ProEm team who will be working there.
