A couple of years ago I traveled to Italy for work, and at night I was extremely frustrated to find no English TV shows available. I Can imagine how people feel when the bible isn’t in their language.
This week has been very busy, or I should say filled with Gods mission!
We have had a chance to work on a few aircraft for JAARS, and have had several meals with past or present missionaries.
Hearing the stories from former missionaries about what they did in Peru or Papa New Guinea or Indonesia with aviation support roles has shown me how big of an influence what we are doing here can have!
Trips that might take 14 days on foot can be made in 4 hours by plane. The aviation department of JAARS has really multiplied the efforts of Wycliffe bible translators by providing resources that the translators could not do themselves.
This speeds the process of getting the bible into everyone’s heart language.
This week I have been involved in the preparation of a Pilatus Porter aircraft that was recently purchased to do pilot training for turbine powered, tail wheel, and short takeoff and landing practice.
Although I always thought that missionaries would have to be language specialists, this week I have seen the great need for missionaries to serve in many other supporting roles.
God is doing amazing work here at JAARS!
