The people, the love, the kindness of all involved in Deepstream Guatemala has captured our hearts from the first day. What an amazing ministry that Brock, Paul and Minor are leading with these boys, following God’s lead and growing them closer to our Father. There are such generational problems here that are so difficult to address to those who are so entrenched in the culture, so they start with a core of young men, much like Jesus did, and do life with them every day through the vehicle of soccer. The prayer is as these young men grow and go out into the world, they will start ministering to the community and expand the gospel through their own lives and change the cycle that is happening in this part of the world. From there, this biblical model will replicate itself and the effect will begin to grow exponentially.
We had the pleasure of watching them play soccer today and they so loved having an audience of cheering, loving fans to applaud and congratulate them on their efforts. So many don’t have any parents or loved ones to come watch, unlike how it is in the States and we got to love on them and tell them how well they played. Their faces beamed with excitement and pride and their hearts swelled to know they were loved. What a wonderful and amazing gift to be able to give them. The Rinos are so easy to love and through the work of BVSA, they are able to love back so freely as well.
We have already been so blessed by our experience and are so thankful that we were able to come and be a part of this ministry for a short period and catch just a small glimpse of what God is doing here. What a great treat and we still have several days to go! How cool is that.
