Parting Ways-
Today was our last day with the residents at CCDM. In order for there not to be separation anxiety or attachment issues for the residents, we were only able to spend 3 days with them.
This morning we spent the majority of our time cleaning the rooms and bathrooms of the residents and organizing their closets while they were away at work. Many of the residents are very independent and all have chores they do on a daily basis, but it was nice to be able to give the rooms a deep cleaning and help them out.
In the afternoon we cleaned up and headed over to hang out with the residents as they returned from work and appointments. Tonight Ethan did a ventriloquism act and entertained the residents and our team (I forgot to mention Megan did her illusionist show on Monday for everyone as well). Then Gary played the guitar and we all sang songs and danced together. After dinner the residents and our team said our final goodbyes and shared our favorite memories from our short but profound time together. It is incredible how quickly the residents are to include you and call you family and just care and love you. They are a very special group of people we will not soon forget.
Please continue to pray for us as our trip is wrapping up. We love y’all and look forward to being able to come home and share more stories with you all!
