Coastal Georgia is experiencing a foster care crisis due to limited number of foster homes to meet the need of our area. Also, over 50% of foster families will quit after the first placement largely due to isolation and lack of support. This is the Church’s responsibility. God has called His Church to take care of the widows and orphans so we are taking action. Our goal is to double the amount of foster homes in our region and to support each foster home with a care team. A care team is a group who acts as an extended family for a foster family – providing meals, childcare, mentoring, and family support.
How can you get involved?
- Become a foster, respite or adoptive family!
- Join or start a Care Team! Care Teams are Life Groups that commit to serve a foster or adoptive family for a minimum of one year. Care Teams provide two meals a month and one date night a month.
- Become an Advocate! Advocates raise awareness for foster care, train Care Teams, and offer continual guidance to Care Teams as they serve foster and adoptive families in our area.
