Today was our second full day in Ecuador, and let me just tell you it was amazing and life changing! Our time here has already had such an impact on our team and our leaders and I can’t wait to see what more amazing things are to come during our time. We started the day with a devotion, presented by Matthew about worship and the different types of worship, and also how we live our lives through the different talents God has blessed us with. After we ate the best breakfast ever, we all headed back to Bolívar in the Scooby-Doo bus that is lime green! We then started our first formation as a group and we talked about poverty and struggles, and why God allows these things to happen. We did some activities in a large group, but we also did some activities in small groups. We watched the video over poverty the church provided, then we headed to lunch!
We ate lunch, and headed back to the new building that Jeannette and Carlos have been working to build and finished our formation! Then the group split up, the boys dug a trench to connect to the new building, while the girls went to a near community to visit friends of Jeannette. While in the community the girls saw a lady named Maria. Maria is very ill, and has been for four years. The doctors didn’t know if the problem involved her heart or her lungs, but she was in constant pain. As all of us girls stood in her house looking at her laying on cardboard boxes as her bed in pain. She only said that she was bored and wanted to go outside and walk. We saw a local school and we visited some other local women and showed them the Jesus cube and then returned to the building. We ended the day with an awesome dinner and headed back to the house to enjoy a wonderful sunset once again. Lastly we all met to talk about our day and sang worship songs while sitting in the living room and continued to sing even while I am typing this blog for y’all! Goodnight! We love y’all!
