Today was a very special day. The children in my classroom learned about the belt of truth as part of their armor to defeat Satan. They learned a new song: “God is so good to me”. Tonight they put on an amazing performance thanking us for our time spent here with them. The team shared tonight that the children and their leaders do such a great job of representing family and providing hope in such a dark place.
Here is a video of the kids singing God is so Good: God is So Good to Me India 2018
This mornings devotion we discussed the fact that restoration doesn’t mean replacing what was lost exactly in the same form but in a new way allowing God to provide healing and peace. As a team we have been discussing the great loss the children have experienced and how hard it must be to deal with the grief. The Bible says, “Blessed be the God … of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). A silver lining in sorrow’s dark cloud is that God can use our experiences to reach out to others with compassion and comfort.
