Day 4, Wow! Another amazing day. God seems to place us just where we need to be. Today we worked on Ms. Kitty’s house. She has lived in this house for over 40 years. I spent a good bit of time getting to know her. What a wonderful, loving and kindhearted woman! She appeared to me like a person who has never met a stranger. She has been living in a hotel by herself for over a month now. But still her attitude is so uplifting.
We gutted her house, another hard day’s work completed by the Dirty Dozen. She was thrilled with the outcome. We prayed with her and for her, and presented her with a Bible that we all signed.
I had read this recently and would like to share it. I thought it might apply to anyone going through a storm, “You only learn what Jesus is really like in the storms of life. He doesn’t stand on the shoreline, telling us what to do. He comes out and meets us in our pain, our fears, our depression, and our storms and our discouragement. He comes to us.” What a God!
Acts 20:35 says, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” This is true in my heart today.
